The Fig City iOS app for the iPhone, iPad, and MacOS (silicon) has been updated to version 1.4 with improved look, feel, and functionality, along with adding several new features:
Newton Restaurants
In addition to letting you “spin” to be presented randomly with one of 126 restaurants in Newton, you can now also easily search the list with a short (typo-tolerant) snippet of the name. The spin feature also allows you to go back through earlier establishments shown if you change your mind.
You can now click on the restaurant’s address and get directions via Apple Maps. This adds to the existing features: You can call the restaurant, visit its website, or order online via its preferred order service.

City Meeting Calendar
Choose “Today,” “Tomorrow,” or “This Week” to get a compact list of all City meetings along with direct links to each meeting’s Zoom link, agenda, dockets, and other details.

Notifications
Fig City News sends out notifications for the week’s top stories as they are posted. You do not have to check our website or wait until Wednesday morning’s newsletter. Consider accepting notifications when you install the app, or visit preferences to reactivate these if you already have it installed.
