Senior Needs Assessment Survey: Deadline extended to Feb. 23

Seniors, have your say! As Newton’s Department of Senior Services plans for the construction of the Newton Center for Active Living (NewCAL) project (345 Walnut Street, Newtonville), opening in 2025, the City of Newton has partnered with the University of Massachusetts Boston to conduct a needs assessment of the experiences, interests, and long-term needs of Newton residents age 60+.

The UMass team is researching demographic information, facilitating focus groups, and will gather important information from a survey that was mailed on January 22 to a random sample of 5,000 Newton residents age 60+ and is also available online. The survey will help the department plan for future programming and services offered at NewCAL and will inform City leaders about residents’ priorities on issues of livability.

Every resident age 60+ is encouraged to participate by February 23This webpage provides three ways to request a survey, if you did not receive one in the mail.

By completing the survey, you can have your voice heard about your experience of living in Newton. We want to hear from you!
