Darnell: Alan Lobovits is a voice for residents and for education

Alan Lobovits is a retired pediatrician, who led a large medical group and served on the boards of Atrius Health and Reliant Medical Group. He is expert in data analysis, finance and management. He’s an expert in autism and developmental challenges in children and young people, and has served on the boards of the New England Center for Children and other non-profits.

He has a deep commitment to education and served as president of the boards of Solomon Schechter and of Gann Academy, of which he was a co-founder. His children attended Solomon Schechter and Newton South. He’s very interested in restoring confidence in Newton’s public schools and supporting teachers.

He is opposed to the VCOD zoning proposal, and prefers to meet, but not exceed the State’s upzoning requirement. He believes residents should be allowed to vote on any zoning overhaul that could transform Newton and their own lives. He is deeply committed to preserving and improving Newton’s natural environmental and protecting the planet for future generations.

Dr. Lobovits and his wife Lisa have lived in Newton for more than 40 years and raised their children here. He is a patient, kind person, and he will be a collegial, thoughtful representative for us on the City Council.

Please vote for only Alan Lobovits in the Ward 6 At-Large race. All Newton voters can vote for Dr. Alan Lobovits in the At-Large City Councilor from Ward 6 race, and I hope you’ll join me in voting for him, and only him. The ballot says “Vote for TWO”, but you can vote for just one, and doing that will improve Dr. Lobovits’ chances of winning. Thank you.
