City receives 9 Expressions of Interest (EOI) for developing Dudley Road Estate

By the December 1 deadline, the City received nine responses to the Dudley Road Estate Requests for Expression of Interests (EOI) that was issued by the City to developers that may be interested in partnering on a plan for the parcel that was offered to the City by its current owners (see 11/17/2022 Community Information Meeting Presentation and Zoom video). The site — currently zoned for single-family residence 1 (SR1) and single-family residence 2 (SR2) development — consists of three parcels (see Property Profile):

  • Approximately one acre with a home at 85 Dudley Road (Lot 1),
  • 13 acres of vacant land between Dudley and Brandeis Roads (Lot 2), and
  • a smaller parcel with a residence at 132 Brandeis Road (Lot 3).

The responses to the EOI will be reviewed by the following City officials and staff:

  • Beth Wilkinson, Newton Parks and Recreation Commissioner
  • Liam Hurley, Newton School Department
  • Barney Heath, Planning Director
  • Jennifer Steel, Chief Environmental Planner
  • Lara Kritzer, Community Preservation Program Manager
  • Amanda Berman, Director of Housing and Community Development
  • Ann Houston, Newton Affordable Housing Trust
