At its meeting last week, the Newtonville Area Council voted to send this memo to the City Council, requesting that the City Council abstain from approving zoning changes or special permits in village centers until the City completes its village center zoning process. The expressed concern is focused on the potential effect that proposed projects could have in “dictating the character and context of the village centers while the process of developing new zoning for village centers is ongoing.”
