
Clark Zeigler will retire as Executive Director of Massachusetts Housing Partnership next February. He has been with MHP since its inception in 1985 and has been chief executive since it became a quasi-public state agency in 1990. During his tenure, MHP has delivered financing for more than 33,500 units of affordable rental housing, financed 25,700 home purchases for low- and moderate-income first-time homebuyers, and delivered $6.5 billion in below-market bank financing for affordable housing.
Erica Lushan, Carleen Gentry, Julia Miller, Mark Whalen, Eric Rosen, Sharon Chan, Joseph Lee, Michele Pfannenstiel, Jessica DeGouff, Raghav Sharma, Craig Fishman, Philip Poorvu, Jawon Song, and Cindy Theodos are some of the dozens of Newton residents who will participate in the 2025 Jimmy Fund Walk on October 5. In addition, Navid Madani and Karin Chin will participate as Jimmy Fund Walk Heros, inspiring and motivating walkers along the course — particularly those in team SHE Walks and Team Zakim, respectively.

Hiba Fareed, Enterprise Operation Product Manager at Collins Aerospace (a business of RTX), has received Society of Women Engineers (SWE)’ Pathfinder Award for her 13 years of active engagement in the field of engineering and engineering management, and for significant professional leadership in her field, her company, and the local SWE community — in manufacturing operations, program management, and as Chief of Staff. She co-leads Girl Lab! at the Boys and Girls Club of Lawrence, co-leads RTX’s annual STEM Challenge Day with the Girl Scouts of Eastern Massachusetts, and established a STEM award for young women graduates at her high school.
Simone Gupta, 12 years old, has turned her Bat Mitzvah project into a mission to help children in foster care by fundraising for Boston CASA’s Back-to-School Drive. She’s visited more than 30 homes in Newton, with plans to continue this fall. “It’s important to have the right school materials for a better education overall. It makes it easier to study. I hope that a lot of kids benefit from this as they enter the new school year,” she said.
Charlie Morgan Shuman, 17, will be walking on October 4 in the Look. Foundation -Making Strides for PANS & PANDAS fundraiser on Boston Common to support treatment and care for children with PANS/PANDAS — autoimmune disorders causing life-changing neuropsychiatric symptoms. Her participation represents the culmination of a six-year medical odyssey that nearly derailed her childhood and sparked her transformation into a passionate advocate and young entrepreneur.
