Local musician/author Ingrid Chiemi will play tunes starting at 12:30PM at Cork & Board’s Holly, Folly, Sip & Snack event on December 9, noon-3PM (1207 Centre Street, Newton Centre). Proceeds of Chiemi’s books — Karma Bank, Odd Simple Beauty, and World As Refuge — benefit the Asian Community Development Corp., Asian Women For Health, and The Coalition for Anti-Racism and Equity. Respectively, they support affordable housing, health care resources for Asian women and their families, and ethnic studies for K-12 in Massachusetts. Her books, available at Newtonville Books, contain song lyrics and art by local artists about pausing in nature, community, and collective re-emergence. Stop by Cork & Board early Saturday afternoon to shop, sip, taste, and meet local musician/author Ingrid Chiemi.
