It indeed takes two days — September 29-30 — to complete All Over Newton‘s second annual Bakery Crawl, featuring almost two dozen bakeries in Newton. It’s a free, do-it-yourself event: Scan through the list of bakeries on the Bakery Crawl site to see which ones are participating on which days. When you visit them, let them know you’re a crawler, so you’re eligible for the promotions they are offering that day.
All Over Newton’s Lauren Berman says: “Map out a bike route, stop at a bakery between soccer games or errands, try something new, or stock up on favorites — and you can feel great knowing that every dollar you spend supports one of Newton’s local small businesses.”
And yes, it’s certainly possible to visit them all! You’ll need some time on both days, so you can catch each bakery when it’s participating. Here are two routes — each 4.8 miles and about 1:48 of walking time — that together take you to all participating bakeries across two days in (perhaps) the shortest time and distance. Check the Bakery Crawl site for addresses, hours, and any last-minute updates.
