On March 20 at 7PM in the Newton Free Library’s Druker Auditorium, Women in World Jazz will present a performance featuring composers who have used their music to promote social justice and peace, mobilize change, raise awareness of social issues and address inequality. It’s free and no registration is required.
Women in World Jazz brings together women of different nationalities with extensive experience in performance and education. The music they perform is easy to relate to, and diverse and engaging. All members of the group are accomplished musicians who play a variety of genres ranging from jazz to world/ethnic. Their international roster directly influences their choice of repertoire.
