Efforts to restore the NSHS Jazz Combo program, an award-winning music program led by Music Director, Lisa Linde, are being led by students, parents, and community members. The Jazz Ensemble and Jazz Combo recently made it to the state finals and performed at the MAJE Gold Medal Showcase at the Hatch Shell in Boston (see Honors Jazz Ensemble performance and Honors Jazz Combo Performance). An impassioned statement of support for the program was made at the School Committee meeting on May 9th (Public Comment begins at 7:51) and a website has been created showcasing the talent and breadth of the program. The community is encouraged to sign the petition and request the program’s restoration.
