Newton-based Commonwealth Chorale, an auditioned chorus of 80 experienced singers in metropolitan Boston, has selected a new Artistic Director, Dr. Michael Driscoll, replacing David Carrier, who has retired after 43 years of leading the group. The Chorale’s 2022-23 season will include these performances at the Church of the Holy Name in West Roxbury:
- Saturday, November 19, 8PM: W. A. Mozart: ‘Coronation’ Mass, K. 317; Marianna Martines: Dixit Dominus; with professional orchestra
- Sunday, March 19, 3PM: Carol Barnett: The World Beloved: A Bluegrass Mass, featuring Monroe Crossing bluegrass ensemble; Other works by Massachusetts composers
- Saturday, May 13, 8PM: John Rutter: Requiem; Florence Price: Praise the Lord and selections from Communion Service in F; with organ and professional orchestra
