The Naumburg Award–winning Lydian String Quartet launches its first of four open rehearsals on Thursday, November 13 at 7:30PM at The Allen Center (35 Webster Street, West Newton). The session will include movements from Beethoven’s String Quartets, Op. 18 No. 4 and Op. 127.
Founded in 1980, the Quartet—Clara Lyon and Julia Glenn, violins; Mark Berger, viola; and Joshua Gordon, cello—has earned international acclaim for its virtuosity, adventurous programming, and commitment to the full spectrum of string quartet repertoire. Their acclaimed recordings, spanning Beethoven to contemporary American composers, have been praised by The New York Times, The Boston Globe, and Fanfare Magazine for their clarity, insight, and expressive power.
