As a longtime Newton resident and parent, I know how much our community values our public schools. That’s one of the reasons I’m supporting Garry Miller for City Council in Ward 5.
Emily Prenner, current School Committee member from Ward 5, has endorsed Garry because of his “staunch support of the Newton Public Schools.”
The City Council’s main responsibility to our schools is to ensure that the City’s finances improve so that our schools can have the funds they need to serve our children well.
Garry Miller supports responsible growth and a stronger commercial tax base to help fund our schools without overburdening homeowners. And he knows that keeping Newton affordable with more diverse housing options means young families can continue to live and learn here.
I appreciate Garry’s thoughtful approach to issues. He listens, studies the facts, and looks for practical solutions that serve everyone. I’m confident he’ll bring that same care and dedication to supporting our students, teachers, and families.
