Sapir: Mali Brodt for School Committee

The Ward 6 School Committee race has exposed a stark contrast between two approaches to public service; Mali Brodt’s is one built on merit and expertise. The choice for Newton voters is simple: Mali is the demonstrably superior candidate. Our children deserve the most qualified leader; Mali Brodt is it.

Mali’s two decades as an educator and School Adjustment Counselor (not in Newton, no conflict of interest there) give a professional lens on policy and practice — a knowledge base that is essential for this position. Her command of the issues has been remarkable throughout the campaign. With voters in every public forum and debate, she has laid out detailed, specific plans, demonstrating a superior grasp of our city’s and our schools’ our complex challenges. This preparation and knowledge come from grassroots work and relevant experience. Mali has put in the effort, knocking on thousands of doors and hosting meetings to hear directly from voters. This is a positive, solution-oriented campaign.

Mali has shown grace and class. This integrity is critical. We need School Committee members who demonstrate for our children what civil discourse looks like.

Mali is not beholden to anyone. She offers an independent, positive vision built on professional expertise, character, and an unwavering commitment to putting students first. For the sake of our schools and the integrity of our civic life, I urge you to vote for Mali in this citywide race where anyone can vote for School Committees, regardless of ward.
