Pruyn: Mali Brodt for School Committee

I am writing to express my strong support for Mali Brodt’s candidacy for the Newton School Committee.

Having had the privilege of both my children educated by Mali, I witnessed the profound and positive impact she had on them, particularly during their formative middle school years. Mali is not only an exceptional teacher; she embodies a genuine commitment to the holistic development of her students. Her teaching reflects a keen ability to recognize and nurture each student’s individual strengths while thoughtfully addressing their unique challenges. My children thrived in a classroom environment where they felt respected and empowered, allowing them to explore their potential both academically and socially. I believe Mali’s unique and sincere approach helped lay the crucial groundwork for the confident, inquisitive, and critical thinkers my sons have become in their collegiate pursuits.

As a parent, my relationship with Mali was one of partnership. Her communication was always sincere and direct, and she was readily available to collaborate on any challenges my sons faced, as well as to celebrate their achievements. Mali was proactive in addressing any school-related concerns my husband or I had with the administration, demonstrating her respect as a leader among her colleagues. Her vibrant and active presence within our school community, as well as her participation in many local Newton events, further deepened her positive impact on our family.

With this experience and more, I wholeheartedly endorse Mali Brodt as an ideal candidate for the Newton School Committee. Mali’s empathy, proven ability to foster collaborative relationships, and unwavering advocacy for students uniquely position her to serve the comprehensive needs of the Newton school district. She possesses both the vision to lead and the practical insight to make a tangible difference on a larger scale. Newton would be fortunate to have her in this role!

Sincerely,
Susan Pruyn
