McGehee: Why I’m Voting for Jonathan Greene

Newton’s schools have had a rough stretch — strikes, tight budgets, and constant debate. We all want great teachers and strong programs, but we also need leaders who can make good ideas actually work. That’s why I’m supporting Jonathan Greene (Ward 6, at-large).

I got to know Jonathan early in our careers. When complicated questions came up, he’d pause to look at the facts, test assumptions, and find practical answers. He listens carefully, follows through on what he promises, and treats everyone with respect. You can count on his judgment and his integrity.

A Newton graduate and Bowen parent, Jonathan understands both the classroom and the budget table. He’ll support teachers while keeping the focus on results and transparency.

I hope you’ll join me in voting for Jonathan Greene—a thoughtful, capable leader who can turn good intentions into real progress for Newton’s students.
