Understanding Our Differences will host author Megan Wagner Lloyd and illustrator Michelle Mee Nutter speaking about their graphic novel Allergic on Saturday, October 25 at 1PM at Zervas Elementary School.
This middle-grade graphic novel follows a young girl who dreams of having a pet — until she discovers she has severe allergies. Determined not to give up, she sets out to outsmart her allergies and find a place to belong. The story is based on author Megan Wagner Lloyd’s personal experiences.
Children accompanied by an adult, parents/caregivers, librarians, teachers, and all who love books and reading are welcome! A $10 donation is requested from adults; children and educators may attend for free. Please RSVP.
Author talk and book reading will be followed by book signing. Books will be available for purchase at the event and also via pre-order from Newtonville Books.
The themes of Allergic align with UOD’s educational unit on Allergic Conditions.
