The Cooper Center is delighted to welcome Tamara Jokic back to the Newton Free Library (330 Homer Street) on Thursday, October 23 from 1-2PM. If you attended her program last spring, they invite you to explore new musical traditions at this performance lecture. If you haven’t had a chance to hear Tamara’s music before, they invite you to join them on this musical trip around the world. Part lecture, part performance, Around the World with Tamara Jokic features a multimedia presentation on world music, featuring photos, videos, conversation, and live singing in languages from across the globe. Participants are encouraged to participate, whether sharing stories, asking questions, or joining in song. It’s multicultural education, entertainment, and uniquely enriching.
Serbian-born Tamara Jokic is a Berklee School of Music professor, Sony recording artist, and winner of Berklee’s Outstanding Vocalist Award. She has performed across the world, from European Operas to Carnegie Hall.
This program is generously sponsored by the Jayne Colino Fund at the Senior Citizens Fund of Newton.
