Nahanton Park offers one of the best birding spots in Newton for fall migrants and resident species. On Sunday, October 12, from 8AM to 10:30AM, lifelong birder Haynes Miller will lead new and experienced birders on a search for fall sparrows—timed for their peak migration—and other avians in this gently sloping park. Participants should bring their own binoculars and wear sturdy walking shoes to traverse the park’s often uneven ground. The walk will be cancelled in the event of steady rain. Participants should meet at the lot accessed from the Winchester Street entrance to the park.
For questions concerning the walk, contact Haynes Miller at 617-413-2419.
Registration is required and limited to 30 people.
