Findlay Toone (NNHS 2025) has won a $26,000 scholarship from the Henry David Thoreau Foundation. One of eight Thoreau Scholars named this year in Massachusetts, she will enter Yale College this fall to pursue studies in ecology and ethology, to prepare for a career in biodiversity conservation. She has been involved with Newton Community Farm since the age of 7. More recently, she served as Chair of the Biodiversity Committee of the Massachusetts Youth Climate Council, collaborating with experts to provide recommendations on conservation and agriculture to Governor Healey and helping to revise the Massachusetts Contingency Plan eliminating delays in hazardous waste remediation.

Michael P. Madon has been appointed to the Board of Directors of The Village Bank. With expertise in the fields of behavioral analytics, cybersecurity, secure manufacturing, and financial intelligence, he is currently the chief revenue officer of ABCorp, a global leader in security, manufacturing and innovation. He previously held leadership positions at Mimecast and the United States Treasury Department. His recent entrepreneurial ventures were founding Pretaa, a behavioral analytics software company, and Ataata, a security awareness training and behavioral risk management platform acquired by Mimecast.

Kacy Spivack has been elected to the executive committee of Hadassah, The Women’s Zionist Organization of America, the largest Jewish women’s organization in the United States. As chair of National Assembly Enrichment and co-chair of Blueprint Training 2.0, she plays a key role in preparing Hadassah’s national, regional, and local volunteer leaders for their roles. She has served as a national vice president, chair of the National Leadership Department and the Data Analysis and Impact Center, and co-chair of Region Presidential Development. 

Robert Joyce has been appointed to the newly created Board of Advisors to the Campaign for Catholic Schools (CSS), which is a change agent for rebuilding Greater Boston’s urban Catholic schools. He is Senior Vice President, Private Wealth Advisor at Merrill Private Wealth and has been a loyal supporter and friend of CCS since 2011. He served on the $10 million CCS campaign to renovate the circa 1915 St. Gregory School in Dorchester into what is today — the Lower Mills campus of Saint John Paul II
Catholic Academy.
