On Sunday, September 21, from 1PM to 3PM, come explore the late summer and fall pollinators
and plants of Newton’s largest conservation area, Hammond Woods, in this Bioblitz sponsored
by the Newton Conservators. Under the leadership of Jonathan Regosin, a Newton
Conservators director and Consulting Biologist for the Massachusetts Division of Fisheries &
Wildlife, participants will learn how to improve their insect and plant identification skills and use
the iNaturalist app. Explorers should dress appropriately for varied terrain and meet at the
trailhead at Hammond Pond/The Street lot in Chestnut Hill.
For questions concerning the walk, contact Jonathan Regosin at [email protected].
Registration is required and limited to 30 people.
This BioBlitz event is part of a larger effort by the Newton Conservators to document and raise
awareness about the great diversity of plants and animals in Newton’s open spaces. To learn
