Newton Cultural Council: Annual Grants Event, Sept. 16

On September 16, from 5PM to 7PM, the Newton Cultural Council will host its annual tribute honoring the recipients of the grants awarded by the City of Newton and the Massachusetts Cultural Council. This event at the War Memorial Auditorium in Newton City Hall will include musical performances and a tribute to Mayor Ruthanne Fuller’s contribution to the arts in Newton.

The event also kicks off the Newton Cultural Council’s grant application cycle, which runs September 2 through October 16. Applications may be accessed online.

The reception is free but an RSVP is required.

  • Artist Spotlights: Select grant recipients will share insights into their projects, inspirations, and creative journeys.
  • Kickoff of 2026 Grant Invitations: The Newton Cultural Council invites proposals for 2026 and discusses how proposals are evaluated and grant sizes are determined.
  • Networking & Refreshments: Connect with fellow creatives and supporters over light fare and beverages, fostering relationships that can spark future collaborations.
