Cooper Center: Solo Agers Discussion Group, Sept. 30

The Cooper Center’s Solo Agers Discussion Group meets monthly at the Brigham House (20 Hartford Street, Newton Highlands).

On September 30, 2PM-3PM, Julie Norstrand will lead a discussion on September’s theme: Welcome to new members and returning members! Introductions and catching up!

Getting older can be tough, especially if you are doing so on your own! The Cooper Center invites you to join fellow solo agers in a monthly discussion group to learn from one another and share your perspectives about life’s ups and downs. If you are someone who wants to talk about things on your mind, join us for some thoughtful discussions. This will not be a support group; however, I hope that you will find camaraderie and support from the group as we tackle some of life’s tough stages. This group will be facilitated by Julie Norstrand, PhD.

Julie has worked in the field of aging for the last 20 years, having worked in the clinical, academic, and research domains of gerontology. She earned her PhD in social work, a master’s in social work, and a master’s in clinical psychology. Julie has worked with older adults in the hospital and community settings, as well as served on various boards focused on aging-related issues. Her research has examined the role of community life in older adults and age friendly communities.

RSVP requested. Please call 617-796-1675, or stop by the Front Desk at 20 Hartford Street. Or send your name, telephone number and email address to the Cooper Center receptionist at [email protected]
