Nonprofits Common Man for Ukraine and Arts & Big Hearts will present a musical, Voices from Ukraine: Stories of War & Hope, at The Yamawaki Art & Cultural Center at Lasell University (47 Myrtle Avenue, Auburndale) on August 24 at 3PM. Tickets are free, and suggested donations of $20-$35 are requested to support Common Man for Ukraine.
Performed by five Ukrainian teenage actors, the musical presents impactful stories of Ukraine’s children of war.
Since 2022, the New Hampshire-based nonprofit Common Man for Ukraine has delivered more than 4 million pounds of vital humanitarian aid to child safe houses and frontline villages. Common Man for Ukraine has also provided mental healthcare at monthly trauma counseling retreats to more than 1,100 Ukrainian children who have experienced the death of a parent in the war.
Following the 40-minute performance, audience members will be invited to attend a 20-minute talk-back with the cast and creatives, followed by a reception with refreshments and an opportunity to meet the cast. Representatives from Common Man for Ukraine will also be on hand to share the latest updates from their 13th humanitarian aid convoy to orphanages and frontline villages in Ukraine.
