Candidates for municipal election [UPDATED]

[UPDATE] Candidates Maria Greenberg and Josh Krintzman have provided links to their campaign websites. And in Ward 4, Cyrus Dahmubed has decided to run for Councilor-at-Large, against first-time candidate James Chaimanis and incumbent Josh Krintzman — three candidates for two seats. Dahmubed’s dropping out of the Ward Councilor race ensures that Randy Block will run unopposed for that seat.

Candidates for municipal office were required to file nomination papers, with signatures to be certified, with the City Clerk by 4:59PM on July 22. On July 23, the City Clerk issued a report of certified candidates for all municipal offices. This information remains tentative only to the extent that candidates have until August 7 to withdraw. No other candidates may be added.

If all certified candidates remain on the ballot, then the November 5, 2025 election will have contested races for:

• Mayor
• 3 of the 8 races for Councilor-At-Large
• 2 of the 8 races for Ward Councilor
• 5 of the 8 races for School Committee

and starting in January, the City will have non-incumbents for:

• Mayor
• 4 to 6 of the 16 City Councilors-At-Large
• 1 or 2 of the 8 Ward Councilors
• 6 of the 8 School Committee members

With this array of candidates, a preliminary election in September is not required because there are not more candidates than twice the number of seats in any race.
