Blessing of the Bells will be the featured Sunday service on July 13 at 10:15AM in the Parish Hall of the First Unitarian Universalist Society of Newton (FUUSN, 1326 Washington Street, West Newton).
The July 13 Sunday service at the First Unitarian Universalist Society of Newton will celebrate the church’s historic chime of 11 cast bells. A history of the bells will be presented and hymns sung to their accompaniment. A piece composed specifically for the bells will be played. Participants are encouraged to bring any bell from home – whether jingle bell, hand bell, or meditation bowl – for a blessing of the bells that will infuse them all with the chime of community. Visitors are welcome. Come learn more about FUUSN and Unitarian Universalism. FUUSN welcomes people of all faiths and backgrounds. Childcare for children up to the age of 4 will be available.
