The Real Property Reuse Committee voted to approve the following (see report and the meeting video is not yet posted):
- Reuse options for 169 Grove Street and 136 Hancock Street. (7-0) The JAPG report recommended two primary options: (1) retaining the Harding Complex and demolishing the Hume and Howard Houses; or (2) retaining both the Harding and Hume Houses and demolishing the Howard House. Sale is not an option, as the property was purchased with ARPA funds; leasing is permitted. The Committee heard about challenges related to funding and historic preservation. The Committee approved waiving the requirement that the public hearing be held within 60 days of the JAPG report submission, and scheduling the public hearing for September 7. This will allow the Committee time to review the documentation and avoid scheduling during the summer.
