Quinobequin Intertribal Paddle, June 28

The Charles River Watershed Association (CRWA) and Indigenous Peoples Day (IPD) Newton will host the 3rd Annual Quinobequin Intertribal Paddle on June 28, 10AM-2PM. It’s fundraiser and a relaxing midday paddle on one of the most beautiful stretches of the Charles River. Meet at the Newton Historic Boathouse (map).

This event brings together Indigenous community members, river enthusiasts, and environmental advocates to celebrate our shared commitment to protecting the Charles River and its natural flow.

The route winds through lightly developed residential areas and parks. The paddle will start from Newton’s Historic Boathouse, pass Norumbega Park, loop around Fox Island, and end at Auburndale Park.

All members of the public are welcome to join the paddlers at Auburndale. Hear from guest speakers and more. The event is free for Native American participants. For others, there is a suggested donation of $100 for adults and $50 for youth under 16. There is also a pay-what-you-can option ($50 minimum). Register and donate online.

All proceeds will support IPD Newton’s 2025 Indigenous Peoples Day Ceremonial Celebration.
