The Public Facilities Committee voted to hold the following (see report and watch the meeting video):
- Request for a main drain extension at 132 Homer Street (7–0; public hearing continued). The petitioner presented detailed plans to address flooding on Chapin Road by installing a 482-foot storm drain and catch basins to provide overflow connections to the proposed on-site infiltration system designed for the new dwellings. Neighbors disputed the need for additional catch basins with studies and photographs, expressed concerns about groundwater, and raised concerns about additional buildings just above the groundwater. Many are concerned about the current flooding on the street. The committee asked for further review before approving. The petitioner is to pay the entire cost. When dwellings are built, they will each require an on-site stormwater retention system for a 100-year storm to get a stormwater permit.
