MassDOT has announced that the Auburn Street bridge over the Mass. Pike (I-90) in Auburndale will be closed to motor vehicles from 9AM on Friday, May 16 to as late as 5AM on Monday, May 19. The closure, between Central and Lexington Streets, is needed for the replacement of bridge beams damaged when a truck hit the bridge in December, 2022.
MassDOT says:
- The bridge will remain open to pedestrians and bicyclists.
- Signs and police details will guide traffic around the work area.
- The repair work schedule depends on weather and is subject to change without notice.
- Drivers traveling through the area should expect delays, reduce speed, and use caution.
- Overnight lane closures will also be in place on I-90 eastbound.
