Families for Stress Awareness will present two workshops on stress awareness on May 1 at 6PM at the Newton Free Library:
For Teens: Stress Survival Guide Workshop, in Library’s Children’s Program Room
Alongside Families for Depression Awareness, teens will learn the signs of stress and depression, identify strategies to manage day-to-day stress, and begin to create a survival guide of their own. During this workshop, a trained facilitator shares their experience of surviving stress and depression throughout their teen and young adult life. This workshop is free. Registration is encouraged, and you’ll get a reminder if you sign up. Walk-ins are also welcome.
For Parents and Caregivers: Addressing Family Stress, in Library’s Druker Auditorium
Alongside Families for Depression Awareness, parents and caregivers will learn how to identify symptoms of stress in themselves and family members, manage stress as a family, respond when symptoms become “more than stress.” This workshop is facilitated by FFDA staff and delivered by a licensed mental health professional. This workshop is free. Registration is encouraged, and you’ll get a reminder if you sign up. Walk-ins are also welcome.
