Board and Commission Meetings – Week of 4/20/2025

Newton Commonwealth Foundation will meet in person (Room 204 )and virtually (Zoom link) on Tuesday, April 22 at 7PM. The agenda includes the following:

  • Agenda Items:
    • Approval of March 2025 Meeting Minutes.
    • Treasurer’s Report
    • Sterling Golf Report
  • New Business:
    • Greens Subcommittee report including review of Hole # 9 and Hole # 13 renovation
    • Update of Maintenance Building renovation
  • Bunker Renovation Project: VOTE on 03/31/25 Change Order for additional drainage work that had to be done on Hole # 12. Additional Cost – $20,588
  • RFP 25-28 Golf Course Management Contract: VOTE on change to contract by Kevin Osgood of Sterling Golf on Section 6b. Essentially saying Kevin Osgood of SGM is not on-site full time and has other golf courses to run. This contradicts RFP 25-28, page 9, Item 12 – Minimum Staffing, section a – on site manager. (See attachment).

Newton Health Advisory Council will meet virtually (Zoom link) on Tuesday, April 22 at 7PM. The agenda includes the following:

Newton Retirement Board will meet in person (Room 211) on Tuesday, April 22 at 9AM. The agenda includes the following:

    • System Actuary Kathleen Riley of Segal to attend meeting to discuss preliminary results of the January 1, 2025 actuarial valuation of the Newton Retirement System
    • Receipt of an accidental disability retirement application from firefighter.
