The Real Property Reuse Committee approved the following (see the report and watch the meeting video):
- Sale of City-owned Parking Spaces at 25 Chestnut Street (4-3, with Councilors Oliver, Getz, and Lucas opposed) The committee voted to approve the sale of the City-owned portion of 8 parking spaces, including a right of access over the parking lot, for a minimum sale price of $276,000. Discussions included the potential impact on local businesses, particularly Hillard’s Chocolate, which hopes to use the land. City staff and the public highlighted support for the economic development it could bring to West Newton Square. Some Councilors expressed concerns about the preservation of community access to parking.
