The Newton Free Library will present a Women of the Americas Concert featuring Women in World Jazz. The concert will feature jazz compositions from different eras of the United States by Lil Hardin, Carla Bley, violinist Regina Carter, and more. The band will not only perform works but educate participants about the lives of the composers. The event will take place on Sunday, March 9, 2-3PM, in the Druker Auditorium at the Newton Free Library (330 Homer Street, Newton Centre).
This program is supported in part by a grant from the Newton Cultural Council, a local council that is supported by the Mass Cultural Council and the City of Newton.
