The Newton Free Library and Historic Newton will present Shuttle Boats on the Charles at the Turn of the 20th Century as part of their Newton History Series. Participants will join Stephen Guerriero, Director of Education at the Charles River Museum of Industry & Innovation, to explore the history of boating on the Charles River. This talk will provide a broad view of how the Charles River came to be used in various ways by industry and society, as seen by the rise and fall of commuter steamboat services, canoe manufacturing, and more. The event will take place on Thursday, March 6, 7-8PM in the Druker Auditorium at the Newton Free Library (330 Homer Street, Newton Centre).
