Finance will meet virtually (Zoom link) on Monday, January 13 at 7PM. The agenda includes the following:
- Request to appropriate and expend $180,000 for March 2025 City-wide Special Election to fill the vacant Ward 7 School Committee seat. NOTE: Programs & Services Approved as Amended changing $180,000 to $183,395.7-0 on 01/08/2025
- Request to accept and expend a $500,000 reimbursable grant from the Massachusetts Department of Transportation’s Complete Streets Program to be used to provide sidewalks along the north side of Nahanton Street from Wells Avenue to Dedham Street and improve the Wells Avenue/Nahanton Street intersection for pedestrians.
- Request to accept and expend a grant of “up to $250,000” from Newton Little League for the purchase and installation of sport lighting for Murphy Field at Albemarle Park and for other general improvements to the field and appurtenances.
- Request for authorization to expend $10,000 for the full and final settlement of Weberson Pinto v. City of Newton.

Real Property Reuse will meet virtually (Zoom link) on Thursday, January 16 at 7PM. The agenda includes the following:
- Reuse of parcel of land: 8 parking spaces on City-owned property at 25 Chestnut Street be made available for sale or lease, pursuant to the City of Newton Ordinances Section 2‐7.
- Reuse of parcel of land: 36,356 sq. ft. of City-owned land at 169 Grove and 136 Hancock Street should be made available for sale or lease, pursuant to the City of Newton Ordinances Section 2‐7.
