Al-Anon Family Groups are a fellowship of relatives and friends of alcoholics who share their experience, strength, and hope in order to solve their common problems — based on a shared belief that alcoholism is a family illness and that changed attitudes can aid recovery. Family and friends who have been affected by someone else’s drinking can gain wisdom and support in the groups’ anonymous, free, 12-Step recovery program.
Five Al-Anon Family Groups meet in Newton — some in person and some online. One meets on Fridays from 10-11:30AM at Second Church (60 Highland Avenue, West Newton). For more information, visit alanonma.org or call 508-366-0556 (9AM-4PM).
