Last month, Newton Wellesley Hospital (NWH) was named in Newsweek’s lists of America’s Best Cancer and Neurological Hospitals. The rankings highlight the top 200 cancer hospitals and the top 175 neurological hospitals in the U.S. This is the second time that NWH has made the America’s Best Cancer Hospitals list, and the first time it has been included among America’s Best Neurological Hospitals.
The rankings were compiled by analytical firm Statista, based on four data sources: a nationwide online survey, hospital quality metrics, results from patient experience surveys, and Statista’s patient reported outcome Measurers (PROMS) implementation survey.
Newsweek noted that, “these facilities have delivered remarkable results for patients with complex, sometimes life-threatening conditions. Their inclusion here highlights their achievements and serves as a guide for individuals needing such care.”
The hospital’s president and heads of its cancer and neurology units expressed their appreciation for these awards.

“Being named one of America’s Best Cancer Hospitals is a significant achievement that underscores the hard work and commitment of our oncology team, whose focus on innovative treatments and compassionate patient care is second to none,” added Dr. Lawrence Blaszkowsky, Medical Director of the hospital’s cancer center.
