Residents of Newton — concerned about the negative consequences of how international and domestic issues are pulling at the civic fabric of society — invite the public to a free, three-part series on spiritual and ethical responsibility in a period of extreme polarization.
The series is sponsored by the Newton Interfaith Clergy Association, the Miller Center for Interreligious Learning & Leadership of Hebrew College, the Islamic Center of Boston (Wayland), and the City of Newton. (See flyer.)
The first event in the series will be Empathy Now: A Multifaith Conversation featuring:
- Dr. Celene Ibrahim, a faculty member in the Department of Religious Studies and Philosophy at Groton School, teaching global history, religious studies, and applied ethics; and
- Rabbi Or Rose, the founding Director of the Betty Ann Greenbaum Miller Center for Interreligious Learning & Leadership of Hebrew College and a senior consultant to Interfaith America.
The conversation will be moderated by Parisa Parsa, Interim Minister of the First Unitarian Universalist Society in Newton.
The event will be held on July 8, 7PM-9PM, at the First Unitarian Universalist Society in Newton (1326 Washington Street, West Newton). Register is required.
