The Newton Police Department will host a free community-building event, National Night Out, on August 2, 5PM-8PM at Captain John Ryan Park, adjacent to Police Headquarters (corner of Washington and Cherry Streets in West Newton). It’s part of a nationwide network of events on the first Tuesday of August each year. Features this year include BBQ, kids’ activities, Officer Leo, Touch-a-Truck, live music, and ice cream!
