Last Saturday, the community came together to celebrate Taiwan Day in Newton Highlands. The ceremony — organized by OCAC in Boston, the Newton Hyde Community Center, and various Taiwanese organizations — began with the raising of the U.S. and Taiwanese flags, followed by a parade down Lincoln Street led by a dragon dance troupe. The Hyde Center Playground was filled with vendors showcasing Taiwanese cuisine, traditional arts and crafts and promoting Taiwan’s diverse culture.
