The Newton Free Library will host a Nuevas Raíces Concert with Guitarist Jhon Alvarado on Sunday, November 16 from 2PM – 3PM in Druker Auditorium (330 Homer Street).
Nuevas Raíces honors Mexican culture through the exploration and sharing of classical music written for the guitar by contemporary Mexican composers. These are composers who have been influenced by the sounds and colors that define Mexico’s modern day vibrant culture. Guitarist Jhon Alvarado explores, presents, develops, and expands upon the classical repertoire being written by today’s Mexican composers through the Nuevas Raíces concert program.
