I’m a lifelong Newton resident who loves this city deeply — its neighborhoods, its people, and its strong sense of community. As an architectural and urban designer, I work to create smart, caring plans grounded in community engagement. Now, I want to bring that same approach home, to help design thoughtful solutions for Newton as a City Councilor At-Large from Ward 4.
At 32, I would be the youngest person on the City Council, bringing a new voice and vision to address the most pressing issues facing our community. I’m running for the friends I grew up with who can no longer afford to live here and for the parents and grandparents who travel hours to visit their kids and grandkids. We need a Newton where the next generation can build their lives and where seniors can downsize without leaving their community. We can do better.
That begins with being clear about the challenges we face, and having the courage to act on them. There is a housing crisis, and Newton must be part of the regional solution. We must find realistic, sustainable ways to fund our schools, open spaces, and infrastructure. In the face of growing hostility nationwide, we must hold true to our core values as a welcoming, inclusive community — an embracive haven for trans kids and people of any faith, identity, or walk of life.
Meeting these challenges will take smart, civic solutions. I am offering a real plan for a sustainable, fiscally responsible, and thriving future built on the same practices of empathy-centered community engagement that I now teach to grad students. I have the experience, vision, and collaborative approach to help build a Newton we can all love, and all afford.
