Kick off the holiday season in Newton Centre on Thursday evening December 4 from 5-8PM. Shop, sip and stroll through the Centre, stopping at 28 small businesses, restaurants, and pop-ups with special holiday offers, tastings, giveaways, and freebies. A list of participating businesses and their special Shop & Stroll offers are posted online.
The Holiday Shop & Stroll starts at 5 PM with caroling on the Newton Centre Plaza. Lighted luminaries guide strollers to participating businesses along Newton Centre’s main roads and side streets. Every stop has something special in store– a mitten pop-up shop, hot chocolate bar, cotton candy machine, free cups of soup, a pottery sale by Newton South ceramics students—and that’s just for starters.
At the Plaza strollers can stop to help stuff a Newton Police cruiser with new and unwrapped toys at The Village Bank Holiday Gift Drive, and kids can check out the Newton Fire Department truck and EMT emergency vehicle. Welcome Home, Newton’s free home goods pantry, will be there, too, collecting new or gently used unwrapped blankets.
