The Real Property Reuse Committee approved the following (see the report and watch the meeting video):
- Walker Center properties (169 Grove & 136 Hancock) (7-0) The Committee recommends the City Council retain both properties under City ownership and transfer them to the School Department for educational purposes, closing the public hearing. The decision followed a comparative analysis of alternatives (selective demolition vs. preservation and reuse) and consideration of historic district constraints, programmatic needs, and long-term costs. Thirteen people spoke at the public hearing, most in support of using the land for educational purposes and outdoor space.
