City of Newton’s Pumpkin Smash, Nov. 1

Green your Halloween at the City of Newton’s 6th annual Pumpkin Smash on Saturday, November 1 from 1-4PM at the Newton City Hall War Memorial Circle (1000 Commonwealth Ave). Stop by to smash your pumpkin, touch-a-truck, donate unwanted candy or costumes, and grab a bite from a local food truck all while learning about managing your food waste and composting!

This family friendly event takes orange pumpkins and turns them “green.” All pumpkins will be composted, thus reducing waste and greenhouse gas emissions and creating a valuable amendment for soil. Don’t forget to remove any candles or decorations from your pumpkin and to bring any excess candy and costumes to be donated. Donated costumes will be available to take home at the pop-up costume swap.

It’s going to be a smashing good time!

Pre-registration for the event is highly encouraged. On-site registration (and a longer line) is required if pre-registration is not completed.

Please share this event with your neighbors!
