Public Facilities Committee – July 28, 2025

The Public Facilities Committee voted to approve the following (see report and meeting video):

  • 132 Homer Street main drain extension beginning at 16 Chapin Road to support stormwater management for two approved subdivision lots (3-2-1, Councilors Getz and Kelley opposed, Laredo abstaining) There was disagreement on whether the petitioner had complied with the City stormwater requirements for 100-year stormwater retention. Ten neighbors spoke in favor of the request and of flooding on their property. Petitioner would pay the entire cost. Petition documents

Attendees: Councilors Albright (Chair), Leary, Kelley, Gentile, Getz, Laredo; absent: Danberg, Kalis. Also present: Councilor Malakie. Staff: Assistant City Engineer John Daghlian; Senior Assistant City Solicitor Andrew Lee.
