The Public Facilities Committee voted to approve the following (see report and meeting video):
- Appointment to Newton Energy Commission (6-0) Reihaneh Irani-Famili, former National Grid Vice President, (commission’s name amended from “Citizens Commission on Energy”).
- Cellco Partnership (Verizon Wireless) (6-0) grant of location for a small-cell facility on existing utility pole at Woodcliff Rd/Boylston St to improve coverage in the area. No one spoke at the public hearing.
- National Grid gas main relocations on Commonwealth Ave/Oakland Ave/Auburn St in coordination with MassDOT work to improve drainage (5–1, Councilor Leary opposed). No streets in the petition were dead-ends (which will be prioritized to transition to all-electric energy). One person spoke for, and one against at the public hearing. Petition documentation
- National Grid request to install a gas main in Beacon Street from Washington Street to Pearl Street to replace a cast iron main (4-2, Councilors Leary and Kelley opposed). Two people opposed the request at the public hearing. Petition documentation

The Public Facilities Committee voted to hold:
- National Grid requests to install gas mains on Colgate Road, and Hagar Street (6-0) Colgate and Hagar are dead-end streets being considered for a pilot electrification program. - National Grid request to install a gas main on Washington Street for the Dunstan East project (6-0) Councilor Albright contacted the Dunstan East developers, and they are considering removing the request and using all electric.
