LGBTQIA+ Social: Story Slam at the Newton Free Library, Aug. 11

The Cooper Center for Active Living in Newton in collaboration with the Newton Free Library hosts monthly LGBTQIA+ socials. The next will be on Monday, August 11, 6PM-7:30PM in Conference Room A on the first floor of the Newton Free Library. It will be an LGBT-themed Story Slam!

Come prepared to share a life experience or simply to listen and enjoy the company!

You can read something you have written or speak extemporaneously. Prompts will be available, and stories are limited to under five minutes, so all who want will have a chance to speak. This Story Slam is not competitive; nor do you have to be a seasoned storyteller to attend!  It is an opportunity for self-expression, to share experiences, connect with others, and celebrate the power of relatable moments!

Bring your dinner, invite a friend. Snacks and beverages will be provided. The event is open to 18+, intergenerational, plus allies. Newton Free Library is located at 330 Homer Street. RSVP requested (but not required) via email to the Cooper Center receptionist at [email protected] or by calling 617-796-1675.
