Programs & Services Committee – June 18, 2025

The Programs & Services Committee voted to approve the following (see report and watch the meeting video):

  • Resolution supporting CPR/AED training state legislation (4–2-1, Krintzman and Oliver abstaining, Councilor Lobovits not voting) a resolution supporting legislation to require CPR and AED training in high schools. NNHS students had contacted councilors seeking support for the state legislation. MA is one of only 9 states without a high school CPR requirement. Some councilors expressed concern about adding another item to the schools’ curriculum during a difficult budget year.
  • Appointment Morgan Maeder to the Biosafety Committee (6-0-1, Councilor Lobovits not voting)

The Programs & Services Committee voted to hold the following:

  • Restrooms at City Fields (6-0-1, Councilor Lobovits not voting) a discussion on restroom availability and accessibility at city athletic fields. Councilors and City expressed a desire for more permanent facilities than port-a-potties. Held a follow-up conversation to discuss more specific costs and inventory of available facilities.

Attendees: Councilors Krintzman (Chair), Humphrey, Micley, Farrell, Oliver, Malakie, and Lobovits. Also present: Councilor Greenberg; Commissioner Nicole Banks.
